Welcome to my webpage. Thanks for visiting.
Here’s a wee bit about me.
Originally from Springburn in Glasgow my Granny was from the Isle of Skye and since a baby I spent many holidays with my Great Granny and Great Aunt. Every school summer holiday my sister and I would head to Linicro in the North End of the Island. I loved Skye dearly and at age 13 I was lucky enough to persuade my Great Aunt Margaret to let me move there permanently in the summer of 1977. Skye changed everything for me and I believe it saved my life.
I left the island in 1982 and began training as a Registered Nurse in Edinburgh at the beginning of 1984. There my love affair with our Capital began. During my time there I not only worked as a Nurse, I was a band manager, s record label owner and a pub singer. Singing with Edinburgh’s (in)famous Tex Fillet Five up until the early 1990’s.
By the late 90’s I fancied a change and began working as a Nurse abroad. Since then I’ve worked in Abu Dhabi, Singapore and I’ve been living and working in Saudi Arabia since 2002.
During the pandemic and after testing positive in May 2020 I began writing my Skye Stories Trilogy. These three books document my time on Skye and beyond. Having caught the writing bug I self-published two poetry collections on Amazon and I’ve completed my first novel.
I’m married to Janya who is Thai and have three kids, Isis, Isaac and Noah. We have a house and small farm in Thailand and my dream is to one day retire there and continue writing. Sometimes dreams come true.
